Solstice Information

Nestled on Summer Street in Kingston, MA, Solstice is a cozy spot that's quickly becoming a local favorite. It's not the kind of place you stumble upon by accident; it's a hidden gem that locals rave about, offering a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of the more tourist-heavy areas nearby.

The atmosphere at Solstice is warm and inviting, with soft lighting and rustic décor that makes you feel right at home. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a leisurely meal with friends, the vibe here is always relaxed and welcoming. The staff adds to this friendly atmosphere-efficient but never rushed, and always happy to guide you through their diverse menu.

Speaking of the menu, it’s clear that Solstice takes great pride in offering a range of dishes that cater to different tastes. They offer everything from hearty comfort food to lighter options for those looking to eat a bit healthier. The seasonal specials are always worth checking out, as they highlight fresh, local ingredients and keep things interesting for regular visitors. For example, during the cooler months, their butternut squash soup is a comforting favorite, perfectly paired with a crisp salad for balance. If you’re craving something more substantial, the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy is a crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

While the menu offers plenty of options, one of the real draws of Solstice is the creative spin they put on classic American diner fare. Their take on the classic burger, for instance, comes with a unique twist-topped with a tangy homemade aioli and crispy onions, elevating the standard burger experience to something you can’t easily find elsewhere. For dessert, you can't go wrong with their freshly made apple pie, which tastes like it was just pulled out of a friend’s oven.

It’s not just about the food, though. The location of Solstice plays a huge role in its appeal. Tucked away in Kingston, it feels like a local secret that you’ll want to share with friends. But even though it's off the beaten path, it's worth the trip-especially if you're looking for a laid-back dining experience where you can enjoy delicious food without feeling rushed.

Whether you're stopping by for a casual meal or celebrating a special occasion, Solstice offers an experience that’s both satisfying and memorable. What People's Say About Place

Solstice has remained one of the best fine dining destinations on the South Shore for over two decades. The specials are always fresh and offer a variety of tastes. I usually choose anything seafood. Formerly a train depot, the interior of this brick building offers a warm and comfortable environment. Solstice is great for date nights, hanging with friends, or celebrating special occasions with family. You have to make reservations most nights as it gets busy around peak hours 5-8pm. Parking is sometimes tight as the parking lot is oddly shaped.

Went there with my 3rd THU diners club - we had a great time. The food was ok enough to try it again. Calamari- tasteless. The pork belly app - delicious. Serves 3, small tacos like mini wraps. I got the short ribs- beef was fatty, taste wasn't as good as ive had it before. One of my party members got the cod and he loved it. The othe one got the seared tuna and also enjoyed it. Hostess was very accomodating. Waitress was very attentive. Drinks were weak.

I enjoyed my experience at Solstice as I attended dinner here this evening. The atmosphere was comfortable & the food was good. I ordered the Burrata Salad, Halibut w/ Asparagus & Solstice Cake for dessert. I loved the music selection playing in the background (Unchained Melody, My Girl, Runaround Sue were a few of my favorites). The service staff was very kind. Kayla was attentive & Trish took over towards the end of the meal. I really enjoyed her service. Something very pleasant & gentile about her. I liked how both ladies didn’t make me feel rushed as I was finishing up a book I was reading.

Solstice has fantastic food! We've been here a couple of times to celebrate special occasions & we've always been impressed. The service is great as well - staff are very friendly. It's best to make a reservation as it tends to get busy. Highly recommend the seared scallops & boneless ribeye!

I’ve been twice now. The staff every time is so friendly and welcoming. The vibe of the restaurant is wonderful and the history of the building is awesome. BUT the winner is the food. The filet was cooked to perfection, and literally melts in your mouth. Paired really well with the Gorgonzola butter. The coconut cake is absolutely outrageous! It’s the only place I ever order dessert!

On behalf of all from Pecks Flooring, thank you for an exceptional holiday dinner. From the beautifully decorated entrance to the cozy private room, everything felt warm & welcoming. The seating was intimate, the staff was professional and thoughtful, and the food was perfection. Highly recommend.

My wife and I stopped in after our son's football game. Lively bar crowd on a Friday night and the unfortunately takes away from the atmosphere because it's a small place. I had a burger and it was thick and juicy. My wife had the fennel sausage flatbread. The flatbread was overwhelming covered with sausage so if you wanted to taste the cheese or sauce you were out of luck. Service was good and I would be willing to try again to try some of the other entrees.

5 stars across the board. This has stolen my #1 spot for places to eat in the area. I am the type of person who is picky and i say this from the bottom of my heart. this place is DIVINE. The service is wonderful. The drinks are strong and delicious. The atmosphere was perfectly romantic. The food. Don't get me started on the food. The bao buns were expertly made with an excellent crunch. The duck, stop it, I've never had duck like this. It was INCREDIBLE. The desserts are all homemade that day in house! The Espresso martini uses actual vanilla. I'm blown away. We were seated in front of the fireplace. Go on a Friday night at 5 and you will have the best, quiet, romantic experience. So much care is put into every single detail. Thank you Kayla for an unforgettable date night!!
